Downtime character is used to allow characters a chance to advance skills that may not get used often or at all during regular game play. There are a few limits on how far a skill can be advanced and what skills can be learned. Both of these limits are outlined below.
What can be learned[]
Nearly any non-combat skill can be researched, practiced, or learned during downtime growth.

Advancing a non-combat skill can either be down through using the skill or doing research (in the case of knowledge skills).

Learning spells and/or disciplines requires a great deal of downtime growth.
